<br />~ <br /> <br />~SEY <br /> <br />7550 Sunwood Drive NW · Ramsey; Minnesota 55303 <br />City Hall: 763-427-1410 · Fax: 763-427-5543 <br />www.cuamsey.mn.us <br /> <br />April 2, 2008 <br /> <br />Mr. Tim Yantos <br />Anoka County Regional Railroad Authority <br />Anoka County Government Center <br />Administration Office <br />21003rd Avenue <br />Anoka, MN 55303~2265 <br /> <br />Dear Tim: <br /> <br />I am writing in response to your letter dated March 21, 2008 regarding a cost sharing agreement <br />for the preliminary environmental review, preliminary design, and negotiations with BNSF for <br />the Ramsey Station on the Northstar Commuter Rail Service. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey has an interest in moving this project forward expeditiously and, therefore, <br />the Ramsey City Council has given approval at their work session of-April 1, 2008, with formal <br />approval expected at their regular meeting of April 8, 2008, to enter into a cost-sharing <br />agreement with the Anoka County Regional Railroad Authority (ACRRA) for 50% of the cost of <br />the work, or $87,134. The terms of the agreement would also include acknowledgement that the <br />50% contribution ($87,134) would be accepted as a contribution to the local share of capital <br />costs and that when monies become available through the County's Transit Improvement Board <br />(.0025 cent sales tax) that the City of Ramsey's contribution be considered for reimbursement <br />from these funds. <br /> <br />Please contact me directly if you have any questions prior to the April 8th meeting of the <br />ACRRA. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />763-433-9845 <br /> <br />-68- <br />
