<br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that there might be a possibility that a vendor would <br />be willing to make a deal with them. For instance, if the Board bought all seven trees from the <br />vendor, maybe they would be willing to donate a shade tree to the City as well. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda believed that they should turn this issue over to Environmental <br />Coordinator Anderson and Mr. Riverblood for the selection of the trees and the details. He <br />advised that if the event was successful they could continue doing it in the future and turn it into <br />a legacy for the Board to leave to the City. He advised that it might be a way to add to the <br />visibility 'of the Board. He explained that there is a planting window in both the spring and fall <br />and the Board could help to kick off those seasons. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that he would really like the Board to plant seven trees, one for each <br />Board Member. <br /> <br />Board Member Max advised that they would be able to use both March and April's stipend as <br />those meetings take place before the May meeting. <br /> <br />Board Member Stodola advised that there are several options for trees near the $25 mark, which <br />would allow for the Board to purchase at least seven. <br /> <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that ifthe Board donated two month's of stipend it <br />would come to a total of $360, or roughly $50 a tree. <br /> <br />Board Member Max thought that they would be able to get fruit trees at that price. <br /> <br />Board Member Sibilski thought that the Board did not need to purchase the most expensive fruit <br />trees. He explained that there would not be someone in charge of spraying the fruit tree and <br />most likely people would not be picking the fruit. <br /> <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that the May meeting would be held outside, <br />weather permitting. <br /> <br />Motion by Board Member Sibilski and seconded by Board Member Stodola to donate the <br />Board's March and April stipend for an Arbor Month Tree Planting Event at Riverdale Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Board Member Bentz, Freeburg, Harvey, <br />Max, Sibilski, and Stodola. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #2 <br /> <br />Appoint EPB Representative to Ramsey3Working Group <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda advised that the Board would need to nominate one member to represent <br />the Board with the Ramsey3 working group, to help craft a vision statement for the City. He <br />advised that they would be looking at some of the things discussed in the previous work groups. <br />He stated that this is the last step of the three-part process. He advised that they will be taking <br />the information that was gathered during the comprehensive plan update OST sessions and <br />crafting a vision statement for the City.
