He advised that some of the people have been nominated <br />from City Boards and others are stakeholders in the City. <br /> <br />Board Member Max thought that the Ramsey3 process had started independent of the City. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda advised that the first step started with a group of citizens who applied for a <br />. grant through the McKnight foundation, but that they had always worked alongside and with the <br />City. <br /> <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that the Ramsey3 group was the pnmary <br />organizers of the process and that City Staffs roll has been secondary. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda advised that now that they are getting into formalizing the comprehensive. <br />plan update, the City is going to take over more of the project. He then named some of the <br />individuals that are going to be working with the Ramsey3 working group and hoped that would <br />help to give the Board an idea of the different people working together on this. He advised that <br />where the City is today is a significant part of shaping the future of Ramsey. He advised that the <br />City has never gone through this process, and advised that there is no scripting and there is no <br />predicted outcome of possible results. He stated that the working group will sit down together <br />and work out a plan for the future of Ramsey. He advised that the first meeting would be at the <br />end March or beginning of April. <br /> <br />Board Member Bentz questioned if the dates for the meetings had been determined already. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda advised that it might not be a set day of the month. He explained that the <br />people in the working group would get a letter sent out with the first meeting date on it, and <br />advised that at that meeting they would most likely all agree on the dates for the future meetings. <br />He advised that there would be some significant passion involved that may break out in some <br />smaller group discussions. He explained that while people will have strong opinions, they do <br />tend to be more respectful when talking and working things out face to face. He advised that he <br />did not believe that this was something that you could be nominated for. He suggested that they <br />have volunteers come forward at this point. <br /> <br />Board Member Bentz stated that he found the previous City meetings for the comprehensive plan <br />interesting and volunteered himself to be the representative. . <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that he was also interested in volunteering for the position. <br /> <br />Board Member Freeburg stated that he was interested in being the representative, but believes <br />that his future travel plans would interfere with the meetings. <br /> <br />Chairperson McDilda advised that Board Member Freeburg should refrain from volunteering if <br />he believes that his travel plans would interfere with attending the meetings. He then advised <br />that the Board would have to make the decision between Board Member Bentz and Board <br />Member Max for the position. <br /> <br />The Board did a vote by anonymous ballot and it was determined that Board Member Bentz <br />would be the representative from the EPB for the Ramsey3working group. <br />Environmental Policy Board / March 3,2008 <br />Page 5 of8 <br />
