<br />Motion by Board Member Max and seconded by Board Member Freeburg to designate Board <br />Member Bob Bentz as the EPB representative on the Ramsey3working group. <br /> <br />Board Member Sibilski recommended amending the motion to include Board Member Max as <br />the alternate. <br /> <br />Board Member Max amended the motion accordingly and Board Member Freeburg seconded the <br />amended motion. <br /> <br />Motion carried. V oting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Board Member Bentz, Freeburg, Harvey, <br />Max, Sibilski, and Stodola. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that he had a couple of updates on the <br />Environmental Expo for the Board. He stated that he did get in contact with the U of M bee lab <br />and they will be represented at the expo. He advised that they would have honeybee information <br />and a bee hive demonstration. He advised that he also arranged for the U of M to have their tree <br />house of horrors on display at the expo. <br /> <br />Board Member Max explained that the tree house of horrors has examples of miscellaneous <br />issues that trees face, such as mower blight, girdling/circling roots and various diseases. <br /> <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that they also have a display of decay, where it <br />may appear normal on the outside but hollow on the inside. He advised that the City has also <br />received their fIrst preorder for the tree sale. <br /> <br />Board Member Stodola questioned if Environmental Coordinator Anderson had received the <br />email that he sent him in regard to the water conservation ideas for the EPB booth at the expo. <br /> <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that he did not get an email with an attachment. <br />He stated that it might be something in the system that is not allowing the attachment to come <br />through. <br /> <br />Board 'Member Stodola advised that he could get the information to him after the meeting. He <br />questioned how the Board would go about setting up their booth for the expo. <br /> <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that it would be up to the Board how they setup <br />their booth. He reiterated that he did have a display board that they could use. <br /> <br />Board Member Max stated that he does have the watershed model for the expo. He advised that <br />this model is the one that was setup for Treetrust, and that he is on their Board. He explained <br />that the model runs water down and shows what happens ifthere are trees present or absent. He <br />stated that the display was at the Science Museum. He advised that the model is self-standing <br />and about one-third the size of the table. He also advised that he and Chairperson McDilda are <br />currently taking the Master Naturalists program and that there were at least two people in that <br />class that did not even know there was an EPB in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Environtnental Policy Board / March 3, 2008 <br />Page 6 of8 <br />
