<br />Mayor Gamec stated that he doesn't think he can go to Washington DC, but feels that it would <br />benefit the City to go. <br /> <br />Councilmember Look stated that he feels this is a small investment the City can make to try to <br />mitigate some ofthe future expense the City may incur in its efforts to get a rail stop. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he is unsure that the City will be able to see everyone they need to see <br />in such a short amount of time. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that if the City is going to make this trip, he feels that everyone on <br />"both sides" should be visited. <br /> <br />Councilmember Look stated that he works with someone who has done some consulting work <br />for Senator Coleman and thinks that a meeting could be arranged. He stated that he also has a <br />connection with Julie Quist, who is Shawn Nenow's replacement at Senator Bachman's office. <br />He stated that he does not have any connection with Oberstar's or Klobuchar's office. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the City has had no problems getting into see the representatives in the <br />past. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich asked which Councilmembers were interested in attending. <br /> <br />Councilmembers Jeffrey, Dehen, Elvig and Look stated that they were interested, but needed to <br />know the scheduled dates to see if their. schedules were open. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig suggested that April 2 and 3, 2008 may work. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that there are four Councilmembers interested in <br />taking this trip and noted that the City needs to be careful about having a quorum. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that the City could advertise this to comply with the open <br />meeting laws, if all four Councilmembers were able to make the trip. He stated that Tinklenberg <br />suggested limiting the total amount of people to 8 because of small room/office sizes for the <br />meetings. <br /> <br />Councilmember Look suggested that if a larger group went, they could split up to make sure that <br />the City is able to meet with everyone. <br /> <br />2) Performance Evaluation Process for City Administrator <br /> <br />Human Resource Manager Reed Kone stated that City Administrator Ulrich's six month <br />anniversary was yesterday and his contract indicates that a six month performance evaluation <br />will be conducted. She stated that as part of the. contract with Waters-Oldani, they will assist the <br />City in this first performance review at no additional cost. She stated that they have a 360 degree <br />review process that is web based on 11 core competencies. She stated that if the Council is <br />agreeable, she will contact them and have them set this up on the web site.
