Mayor Giltl~s~ stated that these plans, started in 1972, had not really changed. He commented
on how Mr. Jankowski is supposed to plan alternatives to Highway #10 traffic as it is too
congested now. ~This arterial takes care of the demands by the Metropolitan Council.

City Engineer laltkowski stated an environmental assessment will be done because of the wetland
involved.

A resident Who lives on the corner of 153rd and Armstrong Boulevard N.W. expressed the
concern that there would have to be turning lanes on 153rd.

Mr. Jankowski stated this is a design issue and would be discussed at a later date.

A resident felt that if there is a lot of truck traffic on 153rd, it would need constant repair.

Mr. JankowSki stated it would be built for truck traffic so it should hold up.

Bretton Gates, 8340 - 154th Lane N.W., Ramsey - inquired what the weight restrictions would be.

Mr. JankoW~ld replied that all roads would be built to a 9-ton weight restriction.

Lowell VasS0ur, _8106 - 153rd Avenue N.W., Ramsey - suggested the City should find out how
many of its residents even want this road.

Mr. Jankowsld stated the City has to plan for the future.

A resident liVing On 156th Avenue N.W. stated that 156th is a residential street and right now there
is a lot of extra car and truck traffic and he'd like to see that re-routed elsewhere.

Sue Smith, 15250 Iguana Street N.W., Ramsey - stated the comment (#6, Attachment "A") about
the Wayne KnutsOn property sounds like there will be more commercial property mixed in with
residential prOperty.

Mr. JankoWSki s~ted that the City would acknowledge the fact that the portion with double
frontage betweenAnnstrong Boulevard N.W. and 153rd Avenue N.W. wouldn't be very desirable
as residential property.

Greg Smith COmmented that he was promised a 30-day written notice of this meeting and he
received his nOtice 26 days from the meeting. He stated he wants a 30-day written notice - no less.

Carlyn Erion, 15511 Armstrong Boulevard N.W., Ramsey - stated she is real concerned about
residents not being allowed to be heard again before the public heating.

Mr. Jankowski stated that if the Road and Bridge Committee is satisfied there are no more
alternatives, then a public heating can be scheduled and public input is welcome at the public
heatings.

Greg Smith stated that the alternative of the construction of the extension of County Road #116
should be seriOuslY considered.

Mr. Jankow$Id stated that he feels both the extension of County Road #116 and 153rd Avenue
N.W. are necessary.

Greg Smith stated the residents will fight for the wetland so the City should come up with a
different alternative.

Road & Bridge Committee/March 24, 1992
