2 A total of eight (8) items may be parked or stored outside on parcels 5 <br />acres or greater (217,800+ square feet) in size. <br />3 The restriction to the number of items parked or stored outside shall <br />apply to the total of all items, including those items parked or stored <br />on the driveway, in the side yard, or in the rear yard. <br />4 Items stored separate of each other shall count as one (1) item each <br />unless they are stored on a trailer. Example: two (2) snowmobiles and <br />an empty trailer parked outside shall be considered three (3) items; two <br />(2) snowmobiles parked on a trailer shall be considered one (1) item. <br />Examples of other items that will count towards the vehicles and <br />equipment allowance are go- carts, motocross bikes, motorcycles, jet - <br />skis, ATV's, canoes, boats, fish houses, etc. <br />5. Any motor vehicle(s) or equipment stored outside shall be currently <br />licensed or registered. <br />6. Any items stored in the side or rear yard shall maintain a five (5) foot <br />setback from property lines. <br />7. Items stored outside, even though they may be compliant with the <br />number restrictions described in Subd. 3.b.1 and 2 of this Section, are <br />not exempt from the regulations in Chapter 5.08 (Public Nuisance) <br />section of City Code. <br />Miscellaneous items determined to be accessory to a residential use are <br />exempt from the number restrictions described in Subd. 3.b.1 and 2 of <br />this Section. Such items may include but are not restricted to the <br />following examples: lawnmowers, garden tractors and various <br />attachments, wheelbarrows, and bicycles. <br />b. Currently licensed and operable Motor vehicles and equipment, and one <br />unlicensed and operable motor vehicle, the primary purpose of which is <br />for private transportation or recreational use may be parked in the front <br />yard only if on a driveway_ or in the side or rear yard provided they are <br />parked on a residential parking surface that consists of either bituminous <br />pavement or concrete inside the Metropolitan Urban Service Area <br />(MUSA), or on a minimum of recycled concrete, bituminous, or prepared <br />gravel outside the outside the boundaries of the MUSA. <br />c. A residential parking surface shall be at least 2 inches in depth, be applied <br />to the entire area beneath the motor vehicle or equipment, and extend 12 <br />inches beyond the perimeter of the motor vehicle or equipment. <br />d. Equipment, the primary purpose of which is for private or personal/ <br />recreational use, may be parked in the front yard if on a driveway or in the <br />side yard on a residential parking surface of either bituminous pavement <br />or concrete, or outside the boundaries of the MUSA on a minimum of <br />recycled concrete, bituminous, or prepared gravel, or in the rear yard. <br />
