<br />Coul1cilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05-XX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PROCEED WITH THE PROCESS OF <br />MOVING AND RENOVATING THE OLD TOWN HALL <br />TO A PARK WITHIN THE TOWN -CENTER <br /> <br />\ <br />vYIIEREAS, Landmark Bank. expressed and interest in utilizing the Old Town Hall for <br />additional office space and prov~ded a proposal to the City for consideration; and <br /> <br />vVHEREAS, City Council consensus was that that the Old Town Hall is an important <br />historic asset for the City and should be enjoyed by all of the citizens of Ramsey for a place to <br />gather; and <br /> <br />vVHEREAS, the current location of Old Town Hall, surrounded by commercial <br />buildings, does not provide adequate access or parking for the Old Town Hall; and_ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the interior renovations initiated in the late 1990;s were never completed, <br />making the building unable to be occupied at this time; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Council directed staff to obtain cost proposals for the completion of <br />the renovations and moving the Old Town Hall to a park within the Town Center as well as the <br />costs of upgrading the street serving the site if the building were to remain at its existing site. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />R^IvlSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes staff to proceed with the <br />process of moving and renovating the Old Town Hall to a park within the Town <br />Center. _ <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes staff to begin discussions <br />with the adjacent land owners regarding the potential sale of the land. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />3) <br />'I'h~ motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />_ _ _ __ __ _____, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />anclth.e following voted against the same: <br /> <br />UlH..l the n.>llowing abstained: <br /> <br />and the t()Uowing were absent: <br /> <br />WJlerCUp()Il said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />lhis the 2Jrd day of August 2005. <br /> <br />-6- <br /> <br />5 <br />
