That ordinance was
presented to the Planning Commission for a public hearing on March 6,2008. The main points
of the proposed ordinance are as follows:

1. 5 items allowed for outdoor storage and parking on parcels less than 5 acres in size.

2. 8 items allowed for outdoor storage and parking on parcels 5 acres or more in size.

Following the public hearing on March 6, the Planning Commission tabled any action for
additional consideration. City Staff did check with the Police Department, and the complaint
data base does not distinguish a difference between complaints based on number of items being
stored in a yard versus a complaint generated because of the condition of items being stored
outside. Since abatement was implemented in August of 2007, the Police Department has
performed 9 abatements to remove junk vehicles and debris from properties, and mow down tall
grass and weeds.

Planning Commission / April 3, 2008
Page 19 of21
