Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that they had not yet selected them but stated that <br />there are four varieties of apple trees that are all about the same price. He stated that if he can <br />coordinate a question and answer interview regarding planting with QCTV he would like to have <br />the Chair or Vice -Chair take part in that for Arbor Day. <br />Board Member Sibilski questioned which nursery they were purchasing the trees from, and <br />whether the prices listed were also prices for the general public. <br />Environmental Coordinator . Anderson advised that they are purchasing the trees from Anoka <br />Ramsey Farm and Garden. He thought that the prices were the same or close to the same for the <br />general public as well. <br />Motion by Board Member Max and seconded by Board Member Stodola to use the March and <br />April stipend to purchase a total of seven apple trees and one oak tree to be the ceremonial Arbor <br />Day Tree. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson McDilda, Board Member Bentz, Freeburg, Max, <br />Sibilski, and Stodola. Voting No: None. Absent: Board Member Harvey. <br />Case #2 Environmental Expo & Tree Sale <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that this case was really to finalize the Board's <br />booth for the Expo, which is coming up on Saturday, April 19 He stated that there has been <br />talk of a visual display of the natural resources inventory and also water conservation ideas. He <br />stated that he brought the display board that he has to the meeting tonight so that the Board could <br />get an idea of the size. He again stated that the point tonight was to finalize the information and <br />materials that they will need for the display and to talk about staffing of the booth. He explained <br />that he did send out information of the breakdown of exhibits and vendors as well as the <br />activities that are going to occur. <br />Board Member Freeburg questioned what Connexus is going to have at their booth. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that they would have energy conservation ideas at <br />their booth as well as a mini wind turbine. He stated that they would do the first presentation of <br />the morning, about 20 minutes, on energy conservation ideas in the home and present tips to save <br />energy in the home. <br />Board Member Max questioned how much of the display board Environmental Coordinator <br />Anderson would need for the event. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that he would not need any space on the display <br />board. He explained that Ace Solid Waste is going to be at the event and has chosen to <br />incorporate the recycling information that he had to present into their booth. He advised that <br />they also have one last minute addition to the vendors as Nowthen Nursery is going to attend the <br />tree sale.
