Voting No: None. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Presentation by Ann Wallerstedt, Executive Director of Mediation <br />Services for Anoka County <br /> <br />Ms. Ann Wall. erstedt, Executive Director of Mediation Services for Anoka County, gave a brief <br />presentation, to the Council regarding who the services are for, what the service is doing and what <br />they are hoping to accomplish. <br /> <br />Case #lb: Report from the Budget Committee <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson summarized the meeting of the Budget Committee and explained that <br />some of the items were "time sensitive"; therefore, they have been placed on the agenda for <br />immediate agtion.. They are as follows: 1) The Budget Committee reviewed the request to <br />advertise for !bid~ for a Public Works Department truck and are recommending that Council <br />authorize advertising for bids. This capital item was funded in the 1992 capital outlay budget for <br />purchase this year, 2) The Ramsey Lions have asked that the City of Ramsey accept the financial <br />administratiOti offthe Senior Citizen Programs the Lions sponsor. This would involve depositing <br />contributions: and making disbursements for these activities. The Budget Committee is <br />recommending the City accept the financial administration; 3) The Budget Committee is <br />recommend~g the City of Ramsey not appeal the condemnation award for the Laws parcel. The <br />City's appraiser recommended damages in the amount of $9,700; the appraiser for Laws <br />recommended[damages in the amount of $47,800; the Award of the Commissioners is $12,050; <br />and 4) Th~Budget Committee is recommending that City Council adopt a resolution receiving <br />bids and awar~ling~ a contract for the paving of Central Park's parking lot. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to authorize the <br />advertisement for bids for the truck and equipment (specifics in Case #2) for the Public Works <br />Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer, Peterson and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by CoUnci!member Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to have the City accept <br />the financial administration of the Senior Citizen Program sponsored by the Ramsey Lions and <br />direct Staff toe prepare a confirming resolution regarding this recommendation for the consent <br />agenda of th~ May 12, 1992 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
