Mayor Gil~srJ~n asked Mr. Barthold if he really was trying to reduce the number of pigs on the <br />farm becaU~s~ with 700 pigs still there, he certainly did not seem serious about reducing the herd <br />size. <br /> <br />Mr. Barthold started that he did not expect his sows to be quite so prolific. He also said that he <br />never receiv~cl anything in writing as to the limit of pigs on the property. <br />Mayor Giltiei't~' son reminded Mr. Barthold that he gave assurance to the City verbally that the herd <br />would be ~ ~e, du~d to 450 by July 1, 1992 and it was not, nor did he bring the requested <br />informatior/regal'ding herd size from 1990. <br /> <br />Motion by C4)un~ilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to schedule a public <br />hearing for Tuesday, August 11, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. regarding the hog farm being operated on <br />P.I.N. 14-3~25-~43-0001. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Beyer, Hardin, Peterson and <br />ZimmermafljVOting No: None. <br /> <br />Further dis¢~lssi0n. Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that the public hearing notice will be <br />mailed to n~bYresidents and all persons who have officially registered complaints. The Ramsey <br />Resident noWsl~ter will also carry the announcement as well as cable television and the Anoka <br />County Unloh newspaper. <br /> <br />Mr. Bartholdistated he has a chance to purchase a farm in Isanti County and would sell his present <br />farm if he W0uldibe allowed to rezone and subdivide into a higher density than the 4 in 40 density <br />zoning allowed. <br /> <br />Darlene Per0n of 156th Lane & Juniper Ridge Drive - asked Mr. Barthold what the smell was <br />between 5:30 and 6:30 this evening before the meeting. Mr. Barthold replied "Nothing unusual". <br /> <br />Judy Watsoni 15530 Barium Street N.W. - asked if Mr. Barthold would have all of the required <br />documentati°n b~fore the August 11, 1992 public hearing. <br /> <br />Ron Aldron~, 15040 157th Lane N.W. - stated that he is further away than the distance required for <br />public hear~n, g notification, but feels that this problem goes much further than that and it is worth <br />the expensec/f adititional mailings. <br /> <br />Pat Bock, 59:40 - 159th Lane N.W. - inquired about the air conditioning bills they had to pay <br />because they ~eou!d not open their windows. <br /> <br />Mike McLairte, 5560 - 156th Lane N.W. - stated that he was notified of the meeting tonight, but <br />his neighbors!w~e not. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik stated that she used the records to notify all persons of this meeting <br />who have officially lodged a complaint. <br /> <br />Case #1: Woodland Green Park Development. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that on June 11, 1992 there was a joint City Council/Park and <br />Recreation ugmmission meeting. The focus of the meeting was neighborhood park development. <br />There are tW¢ neighborhood parks in close proximity in this area, Woodland Green and Reilley <br />East. Staff is bf the opinion that continued development of Woodland Green and completing a trail <br />connection W.0uldr be superior to beginning development of Reilley East.
