<br />Park Supervisor Riverblood anticipated that they would see the Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic <br />Community issue again on the May agenda as well as the Sunfish Lake Park plans and any other <br />upcoming subdivision plans. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Linton advised that invitations went out this week for the Commissioner <br />Appreciation Dinner. He advised that the dinner would take place on April 28th this year. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock advised that there is also a Ramsey3 working group meeting on that <br />night. She stated that the meeting date had been setup before they had the date for the dinner and <br />was unsure how many Committee Members would then attend the dinner. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns thought that possibly the meeting date could be changed for the Ramsey3 <br />working group. <br /> <br />~ 2008 Arbor Day Tree Planting <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that the Environmental Policy Board has donated several <br />hundred dollars for which to purchase several trees to be planted at Riverdale Park. He advised <br />that Riverdale Park is also scheduled for irrigation to be installed this year. He stated that the <br />Commission and the public are welcome to attend that meeting on Monday, May 5th. He <br />reported that they would like to invite the neighbors who live near the park to join them in <br />celebration and in thanking the EPB for their donation. <br /> <br />~ Other <br /> <br />Commissioner Backous reported that he had some good news to pass on to the Commission and <br />advised that in February the Northern Lights Soccer Club received the honor of hosting the 2008 <br />district boy's tournament on July 19th through July 21st at Elrncrest Park. He stated that there are <br />107 teams and this tournament qualifies the teams to participate in the state tournament. He <br />explained that the reason there was such success at the prior tournament was because there was <br />cooperation from both the City and local businesses. He stated that he is looking forward to <br />planning the tournament and stressed that it is important that there is cooperation again and <br />stated that he is looking for local businesses to help out and also volunteer. He explained that <br />they are again reaching out for donations, volunteers, and help from EMT's, the police and fire <br />departments. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns thought that this was good exposure and a good opportunity for the City. She <br />liked that everyone gets involved and explained that helps the City to look good. She also <br />reminded the Commission that on April 15th there would be a Council worksession to discuss the <br />charitable gambling issue and also Sunfish Lake. She stated that she was going to attend and <br />advised other Commissioners to consider attendance. <br /> <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that the Public Works meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. and that <br />the worksession would begin around 6:30 or 7:00 p.m. He advised that they also had a banner <br />year for winter recreation. He explained that they set three records.
