construction season. Presumably, this might occur if the alternate project is rejected following
the public hearing. A project cannot be authorized by Council until after a 60 day period
following the hearing and a petition against the project canbe submitted at anytime until that
date.. Under a very tight schedule it may be possible that the expiration date for such a petition
could occur by the September 9, 2008 Council meeting. This would be the last likely date that an
alternative bid could be awarded with the expectation that work could be completed in 2008.
Staff mentions this since there is some confusion resulting from the interaction between these
two projects as is illustrated by the attached email correspondence between one resident and
staff.

Recommendation:

It is the recommendation of staffthat itbe directed to prepare a feasibility study for the proposed
Andrie Street and l64th Lane street improvements. Staff would also request that the financing
aspect for this feasibility study be placed on a future work session agenda.

Action:

Motion to direct staffto prepare a feasibility study for street improvements to Audrie Street and
164th Lane and that the financing aspect for this feasibility study be placed on a future work
session agenda.

Reviewed by:

Director of Public WorkslPrincipal City Engineer
Public Works Street Supervisor
City Attorney .. .
