CASE # 3 RECEIVEPETITIONFOR THE BITUMINOUS PAVING OF CHAMELEON STREET IN THE SHAWN ACRES SUBDIVISION By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer Background: At the Public Works. Committee held on March 20, 2008, the attached petition requesting the bituminous paving of Chameleon Street was presented to the Committee by Mr. Bruce Bachler, who resides . at 17420 Chameleon Street NW. Also attached is a figure illustrating the parcels which would be benefitted from the proposed project along with the locations of those properties . supporting the petition. The City Clerk has verified that the petition.has the required minimum 35% support from benefitted property owners. Available County records indicate' that one signature. remains to be verified as the current property owner. Staff will verify the current ownerships of all properties so that prop~r future notice can be mad~. A portion of the project costs are anticipated to be special assessed to the benefitted properties in accordance with current City policies for such improvements. The next step would be. the preparation of a feasibility study describing the scope of the improvements to be made along with their costs and financing. This project would be anticipated no earlier than the 2009 construction season. Recommendation: Staff is recommending CounCil direct staff to prepare a feasibility study for the bituminous paving of Chameleon Street located within the Shawn Acres subdivision and that it be reviewed by the Public Works Committee.
