CASE # 2

Discussion of Potential Future Projects
By: Chris Anderson, Environmental Coordinator

Background:

During the May meeting, the Board engaged in an Arbor Day tree planting activity in Riverdale
Park. That activity resulted from the Board's interest in donating a portion of their monthly
stipends to fund the planting. Staff received positive feedback regarding the event and was
directed to include a case for the June meeting for the Board to discuss potential future projects.

Observations:

There is the potential for a wide range of projects that would further the Board's mission and
objectives. Following are a few potential projects that the Board could consider:
. Tree Plantings · Invasive species removal
. Habitat restoration · Rain garden installation

Recommendation:

The Board should be prepared to review the Arbor Day planting event and, if there is consensus
to consider future projects, to discuss and brainstorm possible ideas. Please note that this would
not require forfeiting or donating future stipends unless that was unanimously agreed upon by the
Board.

EPB Action

Based on discussion.

EPB: 6/2/08
