Public. Works Director Olson advised that they would do their best to get an answer within the
next couple of weeks. He advised that they would continue to go with the plan as shown, and
would potentially allow for a future driveway that would work and eliminate the access from
Sunfish Lake Boulevard if needed.

Commissioner Shryock questioned if the access was changed to Sunwood Drive would the
parking still remain in the same area.

Mr. Amberg replied that they could shift the parking area if the answer came back before they
started development for the parking.

Commissioner Backous questioned if there was a safety concern in the past with the existing
access point.

Public Works Director Olson replied that the concern would be that there would be more traffic
because of the additional parking spaces and residents using the park.

Commissioner Barr questioned what the area is currently zoned.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that it is zoned public use and the north section is zoned for
the availability of medium density housing.

Commissioner Barr advised that if the County is pushing the issue of the Sunfish Lake entrance
they could tell the County that they would sell the northern portion of the land for the
development of townhouses. She advised that if they were to do that, townhouses would have
more than eight parking spaces and there would also be additional pedestrian traffic in that area.

Public Works Director Olson advised that they would have a backup regardless of what the
County decision is, although he did not feel that the County could tell them no as they currently
have an existing entrance in that spot. He felt that the backup should be to protect the residents
in the case oftraffic issues because of the entrance being in that spot.

Chairperson Johns advised that conceptually she liked the plan and thought that it captured
everything that the residents and the Commission had wanted.

Mr. Amberg advised that his partner would bring the idea back to the Council meeting on June
lih.

Public Works Director Olson advised that meeting would be a joint meeting with the Council and
the Commission.

Parks Supervisor Riverblood advised that it would be a good opportunity to flesh out what
everyone likes and dislikes and to get everyone's opinion before it goes before the Council. He
stated that if anyone had ideas or suggestions they could call him.

Park and Recreation Commission/May 8, 2008
Page 4 of 13
