<br />PC CASE # a. <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE <br />AN ACCOUNTANT I <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City's former Accquntant I, Angel Hoeffner, submitted a letter of resignation effective <br />April 28,2008. On, April 22, 2008 staff was authorized to conducta recruitment process <br />. to fill the Accountant I position. <br /> <br />A recruitment process was conducted arid staff received 58 applications. Nine individuals <br />were interviewed and staff is recommending that Jennifer Hoffarth be hired as the City's new <br />Accountant 1. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff is recommending that the Personnel Committee recommend Jennifer Hoffarth for the <br />Accountant I position. Ms. Hoffarth's background check and pre-employment drug screen <br />results are satisfactory. With City Council approval, Ms. Hoffarth's start date will be <br />July 7,2008 and her starting wage will be $20.17 per hour. Ms. Hoffarth will be subject to a <br />six month probationary period and all other personnel policies will apply normally. <br /> <br />Funding Source <br /> <br />This is an existing position and is included in the 2008 General Fund Budget as approved <br />by the City Council in December 2007. <br /> <br />Committee Action <br /> <br />Make a motion recommending that the City Council hire Jennifer Hoffarth as the <br />Accountant I at an hourly rate of $20.17, effective July 7, 2008.
