<br />~ c..'i <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE <br />AN ASSOCIATE PLANNER <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City's former Associate Planner, Amy Geisler, resigned from the City. on March 15, 2008. <br />At its June 10,2008 meeting, City Council.discussed a proposed staffing plan for Community <br />Development, which included filling the Associate Planner position. <br /> <br />An internal recruitment process was conducted for the Associate Planner position and staff received <br />one application. The applicant was interviewed and staff is recommending that Tim Gladhill be <br />hired as the City's new Associate Planner. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff is recommending that the Personnel Committee make a motion recommending Tim Gladhill for <br />the Associate Planner position. Mr. Gladhill has successfully completed the required background <br />checks and drug screen. With City Council approval, Mr. Gladhill's start date will be July 1,2008 <br />and his starting wage will be $23.82 per hour. Mr. Gladhill will be subject to a six-month <br />probationary period and all other personnel policies will apply normally. <br /> <br />Funding Source <br /> <br />This is an existing position which was approved as part of the 2008 General Fund Budget. No <br />additional funding is required to fill this position. <br /> <br />Committee Action <br /> <br />Make a motion recommending that the City Council hire Tim Gladhill as the new <br />Associate Planner at an hourly rate of $23.82, effective July 1,2008.
