Phillips ~bf Altron, dated July 23, 1992, expressing opposition to the Bury and Carlson <br />operation. ~ <br /> <br />Motion cartqq, d. yoting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Terry, Hendriksen, <br />Holland, LaDue and Thorud. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by CQmmissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner ,Holland to recommend that City <br />Council ad01:[t t~e findings of fact relating to Bury and Carlson s request for a conditional use <br />permit to establisi~ a processing facility for demolition cement and asphalt in the BW District. <br /> <br />Motion carlS~gt. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners LaDue, Holland, Deemer, <br />Terry and Th0md, Voting No: Commissioner Hendriksen. <br /> <br />The CommisSion proceeded to review the terms of the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded, for discussion, by Commissioner Terry to <br />amend #4 t0 f~ead "Stockpile heights shall not exceed sixteen (16) feet as measured from the <br />existing grollfld elevation over which it is placed". <br /> <br />Further discussio~n: Commissioner Terry inquired if a 16 to 20 foot stockpile would be feasible. <br />Mr. Griswold2 stated that 32 feet is the height of a typical residence and also that it would be a <br />filtered view tko~ highway #10. Commissioner Deemer stated he didn't notice the rubble pile was <br />that high when he toured the site. Mr. Norm Bury stated that the sites vary because of the <br />difference i~i/he fieights of the land. He stated that he would like to stay with 32 feet but possibly <br />16 feet woukl~be ,do-able". <br /> <br />Motion failed.. Voting Yes: Commissioner Hendriksen. Voting No: Chairperson Bawden, <br />Commissioners T~rry, Deemer, Holland, LaDue and Thorud. <br /> <br />Commission~ef Hendriksen asked the the Commission be polled for a number that would be <br />generally acee~ta~le with regard to the height of the stockpile <br /> <br />Commissiorte~ Th°md, 32 feet - Commissioner Terry, 25 feet .- Commissioner Deemer, 32 feet <br />- CommissiOrler Holland, 32 feet - Commissioner LaDue, 32 feet. <br /> <br />It was determi~ '. '~ted ~here would be no amendment to #4. <br /> <br />Motion by Clo.mrmss~oner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Holland to amend//8 to read <br />"All landscaping shall be completed one year form the date the conditional use permit is issued and <br />plant material$ shall be maintained and replaced as necessary on a permanent basis.
