He stated that staffs concern is <br />that if this is delayed further, the road will be damaged and need reconstruction. He stated that in <br />staff's opinion, it makes sense to use the Letter of Credit money for this work, which is estimated <br />around $180,000. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to adopt Resolution <br />#08-06-116 authorizing the advertisement for bids for the East Ramsey Parkway Bituminous <br />Wear Course. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />Case #12: <br /> <br />Consider Extension of 144th Avenue in Sunfish Lake Business Park Third <br />Addition <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton stated that the Waltek property is located just west of Sunfish Lake Blvd <br />and their driveway lines up with 144th Avenue into their site. He stated that the parcel <br />immediately to their north also fronts on Sunfish Lake Blvd and when it was platted, the Comity <br />took the right of access along the eastern edge. He stated that staff has taken a look and proposes <br />an easement that would allow for. the extension of 144th Avenue between Sunfish Lake Blvd and <br />Azurite Street which would also allow access for Waltek. He stated that this is in a TIF district <br />and there is funding available to help. <br /> <br />Economic Development Director Sullivan stated that he has spoken with Waltek and the original <br />easement was executed in 1999 to allow for construction of the road. He stated that they are <br />comfortable with this and look forward to this roadway going through. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked why there was just one bid on this project. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that since 1999, Hakanson Anderson has been involved and <br />did the storm water management plan for the business park. He stated that since they already <br />have all the calculations they would need for the area, it is much more cost effective for them to <br />also handle this project. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Look, to adopt Resolution #08- <br />06-117 Authorizing Preparation of Plans and Specifications and recommends retaining Hakanson <br />Anderson Associates to prepare plans and specifications for the extension of 144th Avenue in <br />Sunfish Lake Business Park Third Addition. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Look, Dehen, Olson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None.
