<br />Councilmember Dehen asked what would be the downside in changing the posted number to the. <br />City number. <br /> <br />Chair Elvig suggested that staff check with the City Attorney to see if there would be any <br />problems with that. He stated that he would also like staff to take a look at the site lines at Green <br />Valley Road and Hwy 47 because there are some trees in the way. <br /> <br />No action taken. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Consider 2008 Storm Sewer Improvements <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that during the year, staff is made aware of various drainage <br />complaints from citizens. He stated that included in the staff report were four potential projects, <br />but they have not yet prepared costs for them. He stated that problems are at: 16350 Kangaroo <br />Street; 6941 152nd Avenue; Llama Street and 163rd Avenue; and Kamacite Street and 148th <br />Lane/Avenue. He reviewed some possible remedies for the problems, but again noted that this is <br />just a preliminary report. He stated that some of the projects should be within the scope of the <br />Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Chair Elvig stated that he would like to see the numbers and plans before this goes before the full <br />Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated that there has been a tremendous amount of rain this. year and <br />asked how much of the drainage issue were related to the heavy than normal rain. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that some of these have had complaints for several years. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that many times people won't call about an ongoing problem <br />until a street project comes up or they are finally fed up with it. He stated that the City does 3 or <br />4 projects like these every year. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that he may also add a project for the old Parabody building that <br />has had standing water on the pavement. <br /> <br />There was a Consensus to direct staff to present more detailed information, including costs, at a <br />future Public Works Committee Meeting. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Receive Request for Stop or Yield Sign at the Intersection of Hedgehog Street <br />and 155th Lane <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that the City has received a petition that meets the necessary <br />requirements and staff plans to begin doing traffic counts in the area. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE INPUT <br /> <br />Public Works Committee / June 17,2008 <br />Page 10 of 11 <br />
