Ramsey3 Final Report <br />Grant No. OS-1237 ' <br />City of Ramsey <br />TRANSPORTATION <br />Philosophy/P'rinciples <br />Variety <br />• Ramsey will be a leader in bringing alternative forms of transportation to the community and <br />surrounding cities. <br />• The city should plan with multimodal connections as an integral part of every development. <br />• Ramsey should develop and enhance a varie of transportation. <br />• Ramsey should provide for life-cycle transportation that provides multiple. alternatives to reach a <br />destination. Life-cycle =maintenance. <br />• Light rail will provide a step in the direction of "un-noticed" transportation. All efforts should. <br />.embrace the reality of growth and use that opportunity to get itright from the beginning. <br />Walkabitity <br />• Walkability ~ ' <br />Safety <br />• All existing and future transportation will focus on safety. <br />Roads and Bridges <br />• Roads and bridges shall be a priority. <br />• Trails, trains, parking?) should be secondary to roads and bridges <br />Strategies/P'rocess (glow do rve carry ant principles?) <br />Design <br />• Focus on Highway 10 redevelopment and Northstar for east-west travel, redesign of Highway 47 <br />for north-south travel, and trails, sidewalks for walkability and connectivity. <br />• Developments should provide options that encourage non-motorized transportation. <br />Design roads that allow free travel of vehicles to and from business to residential.
