<br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION - AUGUSTS, 2008 <br /> <br />1) Health Impact Assessment (HIA) (TG) <br /> <br />2) Ramsey 3 Vision and Values (SF) <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich explained that these two agenda items will need to be rescheduled <br />since the August 5, 2008 Work Session was canceled due to National Night Out events. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich advised that Embrace Open Space had also passed out a survey and a <br />number of residents had called about it. He explained that this survey was not being done by the <br />City, but some of the questions were taken from the City survey that was done in 1997 for <br />comparison purposes. He advised that the Councilmembers could call him with any questions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig questioned if that survey would be given to everyone in the city. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that the survey would be random and was being done by Decision <br />Resources. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen questioned how the community center focus groups had been going. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich responded that there had been two to seven people at each meeting <br />and they had gotten good comments from the residents. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Miller advised that the next focus group would be on <br />Wednesday, August 6th. She stated that they had held three focus groups already and had <br />another four meetings left. She confirmed that the meetings all cover the same information and <br />the reason that they were holding seven different meetings was to make is easy for residents to <br />attend one of the sessions. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich advised that there had been some issues with the Alpine Park <br />communications tower from the residents on 153rd Lane, in that they did not feel they were <br />properly noticed for the meeting. He reported that they put together two chronological meetings <br />and worksessions that were noticed and that the final decision was not noticed. He stated that <br />they put together the information to back that up. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec advised that he reviewed the names that said that they were not noticed and stated <br />that they were not names that he remembered hearing at the public hearings for that issue. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich advised that the tower location was a bit of a moving target and they <br />lost people along the way. He stated that at this point the work the work that has been completed <br />was done legally and the City was contractually obligated to T -Mobile. He explained that there <br />was not a lot that they could do.
