<br />East Bethel <br />Animals, domestic farm: <br />Cattle, horses, hogs, sheep, goats, chickens, and other animals commonly kept on farms, kept as <br />domesticated pets, or kept for commercial food production purposes. <br />1. An IUP is required for the keeping of domestic farm animals as regulated by this ordinance in the <br />City of East Bethel. The procedure for the issuance of an IUP will be in accordance with the East <br />Bethel Zoning Ordinance. <br />2. No animal regulated'by this ordinance can be kept ona parcel of land located within a platted <br />subdivision or on any parcel of land of less than three acres. Provided further, that if all the lots <br />within a platted subdivision are larger than four acres, an IUP for keeping a regulated animal <br />may be issued for any of those lots. <br />3. Upon the transfer of the title of a parcel for which parcel an IUP is in effect on the effective date <br />of this ordinance, the new owner may apply for an IUP for the keeping of such animals if the <br />existing permit is in effect and in good standing at the time the title to the property is <br />transferred. <br />4. It is a requirement for alllUPs issued under this ordinance that a minimum of one grazable acre <br />. plus any indicated fraction thereof must be provided for each animal unit. <br />5. Animals may graze within shoreland and bluff impact zones provided permanent vegetation is <br />maintained and a conservation plan has been submitted that is consistent with the technical <br />guides of Anoka Conservation District. <br />6. All newly constructed animal shelters and grazable acreage shall be set back as follows: <br />a. 50 feet from any property line <br />b. 50 feet from any existing well or residential structure on the same parcel <br />c. 200 feet from any existing well or residential structure on an adjacent parcel <br />d. 200 feet from any body of seasonal or year-around surface water <br />7. Manure must be handled or treated in such a manner as to not create a public nuisance. <br />Corrals, pens, or similar enclosures must be maintained in a manner that minimizes the breeding <br />of flying insects. <br />8. All domestic farm animals must be provided with a shelter. All animal shelters must meet or <br />exceed all requirements of municipal, county, and state building and fire codes. <br />9. No person, firm, or corporation will permit any animal regulated under this ordinance to run at <br />large within the City. <br /> <br />St. Paul <br />1. Hoofed animals. No person shall stable, keep or permit any hoofed animal to remain on any lot or <br />premises within the city without a permit. <br />2. Small animals and birds of the orders Anseriformes and Galliformes. No person shall keep or <br />permit more than one (1) live rabbit, or any mink, ferret, chicken, turkey, duck, goose or pigeon or <br />similar small animal or bird, in any dwelling or on the same lot or premises with a dwelling or <br />other premises within the city without a permit. This paragraph does not apply to any single dove <br />or any other small bird, or any chinchilla, hamster, gerbil, white rat, mouse or guinea pig <br />maintained as a pet. <br />3. Public health and safety. To protect any person or neighboring use, or to protect the public health <br />and safety, the environmental health officer may require permits for any animals being kept or <br />maintained in a manner or number that may result in unsanitary conditions, unreasonable noise <br />or odors, or annoyance, or the attraction of rodents or insects. - <br />4. Bees. No person shall keep or allow to be kept any hive or other facility for the housing of bees <br />within the city without a permit. <br /> <br /> <br />3lpage <br />
