City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On May 25th, 2008, the City experienced hail damage to several facilities and vehicles as a result <br />of a severe thunderstorm. The League of Minnesota Cities reviewed all structures in the City for <br />damage following the storm event. All of the buildings at Central Park received significant roof <br />damage (shingled roofs) and require replacement. Staffhas secured three (3) quotes for the roof <br />. replacements at Central Park. The quote results are as follows: <br /> <br />Ridge Rockers Roofing <br />Bauer Services, Inc. <br />Fridley Roofing Commercial, Inc. <br /> <br />$40,870.00 <br />$43,725.06 <br />$45,894.00 <br /> <br />Staff has checked references for and reviewed the quote with the low bidder and recommends <br />that we proceed with entering into a contract with Ridge Rockers Roofing to complete the roof <br />replacements at Central Park in the amount of $40,870.00. <br /> <br />Funding: <br />The deductible amount for this claim ($10,000) will be funded from the Insurance Fund and the <br />balance will be covered by the City's property insurance with the League ofMN Cities. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Authorize staff to enter into a contract with Ridge Rockers Roofing for the replacement of the <br />shingle roofs at the Central Park facilities (3). <br /> <br />Council Action: <br />Adopt Resolution No. 08-XX Authorizing Staff to Enter into a Contract with Ridge Rocker <br />Roofing for the Replacement of the Shingle Roofs at the Central Park Facilities. <br /> <br />Reviewed: g-S~ <br />City Administrato - <br /> <br />C;C: 09/08/2008 <br /> <br />-89- <br />
