I <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR <br />THE OPERATION OF A CHURCH IN THE B-1 BUSINESS DISTRICT; <br />CASE OF RUM RIVER RETAIL VENTURES <br />By: Chris Anderson, Environmental Coordinator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City has received an application for an Interim Use Permit from Rum. River Retail Ventures <br />to allow for the temporary operation of a church facility. in an area zoned B-1 Business District. <br />The temporary church facility will be in a multi-tenant building located at 6008 167th Ave NW. <br />The Applicant would like to be able to utilize the space for church offices, Sunday services and <br />to provide other services, such as youth group meetings/activities, throughout the week. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) Site location map <br />b) Site layout <br />c) Interior design layout <br />d) Summary of operations by Hope Fellowship of Ramsey <br />e) Photo of site <br />f) Proposed Findings of Fact <br />g) Proposed IIiterim Use Permit <br /> <br />Notification: . <br /> <br />State law requires notification to properties within 350 feet of the boundaries of the subject <br />property. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The Applicant is proposing to utilize 8,184 square feet of the multi-tenant building located at <br />6008 167th Ave NW for the purposes of operating a church. The Applicant is proposing to <br />remodel the unit to have a worship area, offices, and youth rooms. It is the City's understanding <br />that the proposed tenant, Hope Fellowship of Ramsey, is actively looking for property in Ramsey <br />on which to either construct a permanent facility or to purchase an existing facility. <br /> <br />The B-1 Business District does not expressly permit churches or other places of worship. The B- . <br />1 Business District does allow for offices as a permitted use. The Applicant is requesting the <br />duration of the Interim Use Permit be five (5) years, which is the maximum allowable time <br />permitted by City Code. <br /> <br />1 <br />
