REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br /> By: Public Works Staff <br /> <br />CASE #: <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday, September 19, 2000, and discussed six <br />cases. The actions of the Committee are as follows: <br /> <br />Case #1: Update on Trunk Highway #47: <br /> <br />The Committee was supportive of the proposal to construct a six-foot high wooden <br />barrier along the top of the berm between 149th Avenue N,W. and the northerly edge of <br />wetland 680w (near the former Law's property). The committee suggested further <br />discussion with MnDot on the maintenance responsibility for the wall. A number of <br />residents from the W'illow Ridge development were present requesting consideration of <br />some similar type of screening be considered from and area north and south of Barium <br />Street N.W. and Trunk Highway #47 where the roadway was also raised and the existing <br />berm was reduced. The Committee directed staff to work with the residents and report <br />back to the Committee with options. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to ratify the direction of the Committee. <br /> <br />Case #2: Request by Residents to Install a Four-Way Stop Sign at 155th /153rd <br />Avenue N.W. and County Road #56 (Ramsey Boulevard N.W.) <br /> <br />The Committee explained to the .citizens present that it was ultimately Anoka County's <br />decision on whether stop signs would be placed on the intersection of County Road #56 <br />to create a four-way stop at this intersection.
