-214- The masonry restoration work will also include repair of existing cracks in the concrete base. The joint between the concrete base and the brick masonry will be caulked. The cost to complete the work outlined above will be approximately $20,000.00. This estimate includes and allowance for repointing approximately twenty percent (20%) of the mortar joints in the working area. The additional cost to cut out and repoint all mortar joints in the working area will be approximately $4,500.00. II. EXTERIOR MASONRY CLEANI~[G The exposed exterior masonry surfaces would be cleaned using chemical solutions in conjunction with a moderate pressure water rinse. The additional cost to clean the exposed exterior masonry surfaces in the working area would be approximately $2,200.00. III. CAULKING The additional cost to caulk the exterior perimeters of the windows and doors in the working area would be approximately $1,000.00. IV. COATING The existing concrete base would be coated with one (1) application of an acrylic masonry coating such as "Thorocoat" as manufactured by Harris Specialty Products. The additional cost to complete this work would be approximately $975.00. These are preliminary estimates to be used for budget purposes only. The actual cost of this work will be determined by the scope of work, and specifications for completing that work, included in the project. These estimates are based on labor and material costs for the 2000 construction season. These estimates are based on a preliminary site fnspection. A closer inspection may reveal conditions that require additional attention-not included in these estimates. I have included a set of suggested specifications for the work outlined above.
