PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at <br />the Ramsey M. unicipaI Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Kim Moore-Sykes <br />Human Resources Manager Rhonda Heryla <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Boos <br />Councilmember Margaret Connolly <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Jerry Zimmerman <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Anderson called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:04 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Authorize Appointment of Two Full-Time Public Works Maintenance <br /> Workers and Name an Alternative <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Heryla stated that since late February, staff has been following the <br />process to replace two full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker. Twenty-eight applications <br />were received for the two positions, which were reviewed, rated and ranked independently by the <br />Human Resources Manager, Director of Public Works, Parks/Utilities Supervisor, and Streets <br />Supervisor. Based on interview results from 12 candidates, the interview panel recommends that <br />City Council authorize staff to offer a full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker position to <br />Jon Pearson and to Chad Christian effective April 12, 2000. Because of the tight job market and <br />lengthy hiring process, the panel also recommends that Levi Dargis be named as an alternate in <br />the event one of the first two candidates declines an offer.
