<br />EDA BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Consider Participation in Sunfish Commons Sign Plan <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan stated that at the last meeting, the Ramsey EDA <br />discussed the Sunfish Lake Boulevard construction project and the potential impacts of the <br />iristallation of the median. . <br /> <br />Chair Riley arrived at the meeting at 7 :05 a.m. <br /> <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan. stated that today's special meeting was to review <br />the actual costs for the sign plan. proposed by'Gaughan Companies and to discuss what, if any, <br />possible level of cost participation the City will give.' He stated that his goal is to not end the <br />meeting any later than 7:45 a.m. <br /> <br />Member Kiefer asked hQw many feetit will be tomake the electrical connection to the sign and . <br />what amp service the sign will need. . <br /> <br />Mr. Hebert stated that the electrical service will run frqm the mechanical. room in Sunfish <br />Commons, near lNT Liquors, out to the sign,'which is approximateiy 75 feet. <br /> <br />Chair Riley asked about the proposed. LED display sign and how that will help mitigate the <br />potential impact of the median. <br /> <br />Mr. Hebert stated that the LED sign will help the tenants of the builc1illg because in retail it is <br />important to have access, visibility, and the ability to advertise. He stated that the LED sign <br />would allow the tenants to advertise specific specials or items. He stated that their concept is for <br />each tenant to participate in 'being on the marquis sign in some way. <br /> <br />Mr..Gandel stated that the owners group are not big fans of the black, portable, temporary signs <br />with the neon lettering. . He stated that the LED sign would give the tenants the. ability to change <br />. or amend the message on a regular basis. . . <br /> <br />l'1ember Jeffrey ask~d if the LED sign would eliminate the use of the portable, temporary, neon <br />SIgns. <br /> <br />Mr. Gandel stated that they have been pretty liberal. with the temporary signs, but feels that they <br />can certainly cut back on them with the LED sign. <br /> <br />Member Elvig asked if the temporary signs on trailers have been an issue. <br /> <br />Economic.
