Background <br />CONSIDER A RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING <br />BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br />On December 31, 2008, the terms of the following seven commissioners will expire: <br />• Keith Kiefer — Economic Development Authority <br />• Joe McDilda - Environmental Policy Board <br />• Melody Shryock & Steven Hansen - Park and Recreation Commission <br />• Gary Levine & Ralph Brauer — Planning Commission <br />• Tom Anderson — Public Safety Board <br />PC CASE # 3 <br />In addition, there is one vacant seat on the Environmental Policy Board that must be filled. <br />Each commissioner listed above was invited to reapply for an additional term and submitted a <br />reapplication questionnaire for consideration by the evaluation panel. The evaluation panel <br />includes Council Members Jeffrey, Olson and Dehen and the chair and vice chair of the <br />applicant's board or commission. If the chair or vice chair is among those requesting <br />reappointment, the longest tenured member was asked to serve on the evaluation panel in place <br />of the chair or vice chair. <br />The reapplication questionnaires are included in the packets of City Council Members. <br />Personnel Committee Recommendation <br />Based upon the discussion, the Personnel Committee makes the following recommendations to <br />the City Council: <br />• Reappoint/do not reappoint Keith Kiefer to a six -year term on the EDA <br />• Reappoint/do not reappoint Joe McDilda to a four -year term on the EPB <br />• Reappoint/do not reappoint Melody Shryock to a four -year term on the Park and Recreation <br />Commission <br />• Reappoint/do not reappoint Steve Hansen to a four -year term on the Park and Recreation <br />Commission <br />• Reappoint/do not reappoint Gary Levine to a four -year term on the Planning Commission <br />• Reappoint/do not reappoint Ralph Brauer to a four -year term on the Planning Commission <br />• Reappoint/do not reappoint Tom Anderson to a four -year term on the Public Safety Board <br />• Direct staff to advertise the vacant EPB seat. <br />G:W dminist rationl Homanftesources \ Commissions All Commissions (General Info and Recruitment) 1Recnitlnent\ Resolutions \1I -25 -08 Res. re -appt commissioners.docx <br />
