ORDINANCE NO. 08-11- <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 4 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE, WHICH CHAPTER IS <br />KNOWN AS THE "PUBLIC FACILITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS" CHAPTER OF THE <br />CITY CODE. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4.40.06 OF THE CITY CODE WHICH SECTION <br />IS ENTITLED "WATER AND SEWER LINES," BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW <br />SUBSECTION ENTITLED "DISCONNECTING CITY WATER SERVICE ". <br />The City of Ramsey Ordains: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT <br />Subsection 4.40.12, "Disconnecting City Water Service" is hereby added to the City Code and <br />which subsection provides as follows: <br />-262- <br />4.40.12 Disconnecting City Water Service <br />Subsection 12 Disconnecting City Water Service <br />a. Any City water service customer or property owner responsible for paying for <br />water service desiring to discontinue the use of City water must make a written <br />request to disconnect the service to the Director of Public Works. The Director of <br />Public Works will have the service at the curb stop box shut off by authorized <br />personnel. <br />b. No unauthorized person will shut off the water service. <br />c. A fee to be determined from time to time by resolution of the City Council shall be <br />charged for disconnecting service. Such fee will include charges for restoring <br />service. <br />d. The Building Official or the Director of Public Works to protect the public health <br />and safety and in order to protect the public water supply and/or private property, <br />may order the City water service immediately disconnected to any property upon <br />determining that any of the following conditions exits: <br />1. The property is vacant; <br />2. The property is unsecured; <br />3. The property is determined to be uninhabitable or unsuitable for occupancy; <br />
