ORDINANCE NO. 08-11- CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 4 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE, WHICH CHAPTER IS KNOWN AS THE "PUBLIC FACILITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS" CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4.40.06 OF THE CITY CODE WHICH SECTION IS ENTITLED "WATER AND SEWER LINES," BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW SUBSECTION ENTITLED "DISCONNECTING CITY WATER SERVICE ". The City of Ramsey Ordains: SECTION 1. AMENDMENT Subsection 4.40.12, "Disconnecting City Water Service" is hereby added to the City Code and which subsection provides as follows: -262- 4.40.12 Disconnecting City Water Service Subsection 12 Disconnecting City Water Service a. Any City water service customer or property owner responsible for paying for water service desiring to discontinue the use of City water must make a written request to disconnect the service to the Director of Public Works. The Director of Public Works will have the service at the curb stop box shut off by authorized personnel. b. No unauthorized person will shut off the water service. c. A fee to be determined from time to time by resolution of the City Council shall be charged for disconnecting service. Such fee will include charges for restoring service. d. The Building Official or the Director of Public Works to protect the public health and safety and in order to protect the public water supply and/or private property, may order the City water service immediately disconnected to any property upon determining that any of the following conditions exits: 1. The property is vacant; 2. The property is unsecured; 3. The property is determined to be uninhabitable or unsuitable for occupancy;
