The deadline to submit an adopted <br />plan to the Metropolitan Council is December 31, 2008, including a mandatory six -month review period <br />for adjacent agencies. The City has applied for an extension to the deadline to accommodate this six - <br />month review period. <br />Notification: <br />A Public Hearing was properly advertised in the official newspaper and staff attempted to notify all <br />property owners with a proposed land use designation change. <br />A draft of the 2008 Comprehensive Plan Update has been completed by the City's consultant, Bonestroo. <br />A copy of the draft plan was sent to Council on October 31. Additional copies are available upon <br />request. Only sections with major amendment are included in this case. <br />In 2005, the Metropolitan Council sent out system statements, including the projected number of <br />households for Ramsey in 2030. Communities could then begin working on their 2008 Comprehensive <br />Plan Updates. <br />In February of 2007, the City began hosting a series of forums and community meetings through the <br />leadership of the Ramsey3 organization, who were successful in securing a McKnight Foundation grant <br />to be used in preparation for completing a draft Comprehensive Plan Update. <br />On March 13, 2007, the City authorized a contract with Bonestroo for consulting services to draft the <br />2008 Comprehensive Plan Update. <br />
