Staff has received some additional comments from the community regarding content and layout of the <br />draft. Those comments are included for your reference. In response to the water supply issue, the <br />surface water treatment plant pilot study has shown the ability to handle the capacity of the proposed <br />Future Land Use map in the event ground water supply expansion is no longer a viable; option. <br />Furthermore, Staff has completed additional review of the draft and recommends changes to the <br />Transportation and Parks & Recreation Elements of the draft. These sections are included for your <br />review. These do include tracking changes from the draft that went to Public Hearing, so the layout <br />appears to be somewhat awkward. The final version will be edited for better layout and remove blank <br />pages and any possible missing page numbers. • <br />Recommendation: <br />The Planning Commission recommended City Council authorize distribution of the Draft 2008 <br />Comprehensive Plan Update to adjacent organizations for review subject to further review by staff as <br />directed by Planning Commission. Staff recommends amending the Transportation and Parks & <br />Recreation Elements of the draft plan. <br />Funding Source: <br />The completion of the Draft 2008 Comprehensive Plan was completed through a contract with Bonestroo <br />and paid for with the Community Development Department fund.
