-304— <br />The second phase in the City's strategy to maintain adequate operation on TH 10 is to <br />continue communications and planning with Anoka County, Mn/DOT, and the <br />Metropolitan Council regarding future improvements to TH 10. The TH 10 <br />Interregional Corridor Management Plan documented Mn/DOTs long term vision for <br />the improvement of TH 10. The plan states that the section of TH 10 between Hanson <br />Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard needs to be upgraded to freeway standards <br />between 2000 and 2010. The plan also states that the section between Sunfish Lake <br />Boulevard and TH 101 be upgraded to freeway standards between 2010 and 2018. <br />Ramsey is supportive of these improvements and will maintain communication with <br />Mn/DOT on future projects on TH 10. <br />4. Measures to Preserve Adequate Operations on TH 47 = =� <br />In a manner similar to TH 10, the City recognizes that TH 47 is an minor se rial, <br />that it now operates at LOS C near the City's southern border and that/ft/DOT does <br />not presently plan to upgrade TH 47 -to four lanes. The City c1eiii rate∎ ts interest <br />to preserve adequate operations along this highway by hiring &i t to complete <br />a corridor study for TH 47. The corridor study report dateuly recommended a <br />balanced set of actions consisting of the followints <br />2008 Comprehensive Plan <br />• Widening of TH 47 to increase its capes. <br />• Improvements to roadways in addition to 47 Ramsey, including TH 47 in <br />the City of Anoka and other pllel roadways <br />• Establishment of a trail panel TH 47 to encourage and more safely <br />accommodate bicycle and_edrian <br />• Reduction in the numbLif accIss points along TH 47. <br />The City Council ab_ploWie Corridor Study in August 1996 and is continuing to <br />pursue the balanced progrJm recommended in order to preserve the operational <br />integrity of T <br />The 'ruts initiated a project to assess capacity issues on TH 47 from the <br />northern ry of Anoka County to TH 10.
