3. Measures to Provide Adequate Operations on TH 10 <br />As expressed earlier in the transportation element, the City of Ramsey recognizes the <br />following three key points regarding TH 10 through the community: <br />a) TH 10 is a Principal Arterial and thereby serves as a major regional highway <br />a)I�TH 10 presently is operating at or beyond its capacity limits through the City <br />h)c) Mn/DOT has no major improvements programmed but unfunded improvements <br />for TH 10 but is an active supporter of pursuing RALF funds for the exaansion of <br />2008 Comprehensive Plan <br />TH 10. <br />In response to the above points, the City has established a two- phastegy tc ulfill <br />its role in providing adequate future operations on TH 10. One phase nsists of <br />extending and upgrading parallel east -west roadways to redeentrrnlSer of trips <br />using TH 10. The City is vigorously pursuing improt toast -west local <br />roadways as evidenced by the following projects: <br />• In the County's Capital ImprovementrograiliI}'ounty Road 116 is <br />programmed for upgrading in 2012 tc.four lane Evided highway from County <br />Road 57 (Sunfish Lake Blvd. to TH <br />► The City's CIP includes in 2Q 3,000 foot . Mension of McKinley Street east of <br />Jaspar Street, which is just eaf County Road 56 (Ramsey Blvd.). This <br />roadway, which is just about=500orth of TH 10, will serve an important <br />function in accommodating eawestcal trips. <br />In addition to the precedir_rojejts, which the City is committed to implementing, <br />the City also intends tam tore extension of 167 Avenue between Variolite <br />Street and NwtheriBlmcias a collector route.
