Absent: Councilmember Cich. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Appointments to the Charter Commission <br /> <br />Mrs. Helling stated that Mr. Glen Hardin, Mr. Jay Swokowski and Ms. Judy Mare had applied for <br />positions on the Charter Commission. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin asked that his name be withdrawn from the application since two other <br />applicants had responded to the position openings. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to appoint Ms. Judy <br />Marn and Mr. Jay Swokowski to the Charter Commission to terms expiring May 12, 1995 and to <br />authorize Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney to submit a letter to the Chief District Court Judge <br />with Council's nominations. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer and Peterson. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cich. <br /> <br />Case #2: Request to Vacate Dedicated Street Right-of-Way in Gateway North <br /> Industrial Park <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski stated that four of the five fronting property owners have petitioned for the vacation <br />of the right-of-ways. A public hearing was held with the Planning and Zoning Commission and <br />they decided this vacation was not in the best public interest; therefore, they denied it. <br /> <br />Mr. Ralph Williams stated his proposal and also discussed his development agreement. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to deny vacation of <br />street right-of-way in Gateway North Industrial Park based on the fact that City Council finds that <br />the vacation is not in the best public interest. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Mayor Gilbertson, addressing Mr. Williams, stated that they should meet <br />along with City Engineer Jankowski and Mr. Don Greenberg and review the development <br />agreement to see what can be done with regard to who would pay for the construction of the <br />streets. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Absent: Councilmember Cich. <br /> <br />Case #3: Request for Preliminary Plat Approval of Northfork Point Addition; <br /> Case of North Fork, Inc. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated that North Fork, Inc. is requesting preliminary plat approval of Northfork Point <br />Addition. The plat consists of 60 acres proposed to be subdivided into one outlot and 20 single <br />family rural residential lots averaging 1.9 acres each. Outlot A is proposed to be conveyed to the <br />Homeowners Association.
