Get Involved: Serve as an Advisor to the City Council The city of Ramsey is looking for residents who are interested in par- ticipating in the governance of their community by serving as a board or commission member on one of its Ad- visory Commissions. The purpose of an advisory commission is to make specific recommendations to the City Council on current issues facing the city. New members will begin serving in JaIlUary 2009 aIld terms typically " last four years, with some exceptions. Meetings are held once per month at the RaInsey Municipal Center. Most advisory commission members are paid a $25.00 per meeting stipend. PaIl- ther made a bold move by deciding to construct a 26,000 SF building in Ramsey aIld to move from its 14.000 SF leased space in Fridley. Tom Olson aIld Chris Miller. owners of Panther Precision Machine, have seen their COmpaI1Y grow from 3 em- ployees in 1998 to over 33 as of today. Panther added 15.000 SF to its initial project in 2006 aIld now is construct- ing another 26,000 SF on the adjacent lot to the east. The new building will house more manufacturing for PaIlther as well as space for Dynamic Rigging. This joint venture will enable both businesses to grow aIld to create more potential jobs for Ramsey residents. The business typically maIlUfac- tures palis in small qUaIltities that are custom made for its customers but has the ability to do larger qUaIltity jobs as well.
