Home occupations shall be allowed to exist III the <br />residential zoning districts in accordance with certain criteria established to protect the peace, <br />quiet, and domestic tranquility in all residential neighborhoods within the City, and in order to <br />guarantee all residents freedom from excessive noise, excessive traffic, nuisance, fire hazard and <br />other possible effects of sllid home occupation u$es. Applications for a <br />H:ome Occupatioi.1 :Perniit shan be processedadinh1istratively by the Zoiling AdministtatOl~; or <br />when circumstances necessitate~ in accordllnce with the processing jJrocedure established for <br />COl1.ditiOllal Use Permits in Section 9.03.05 of this Code. Home Occupation Permits may be <br />suspende.d or revoked pursllant to the procedure established in Sectio119.03.05 of this Code. <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Home Occupation Requirements. All home. occupations are <br />required to operate under the following parameters. <br /> <br />a. The owner of the home occllpatioil 8hll11 occupy the dwelliJlg unit on the site <br />of the hon1e occupation. <br /> <br />b. Home occupation operations are restricted to the dwelling unit, attached or <br />detached garage$ or IlccessOlY buildings. Ifthe owner of a home occupation is <br />conducting operations in a detached accessOlY building, said accessOiy <br />building nmst be located on the same parcel as the owners dwelling unit, or a <br />parcel immediately adjacent to the owner's dwelling, to which the owner also <br />has fee title. <br /> <br />c, The area set aside for the home 9ccupation in the dwelling unit shall not <br />exceed 20% of the gross liYu1g area Qfthe dwelling unit. <br /> <br />d. The atea set aside for the hoine. occupation in attached or detached accessory <br />buildings or garages shall not exceed total accessOlY building space or height <br />allowed on the site. of the home occupatipn, as established in Section 9.11.02 <br />(Accessoi'y Uses & Bllildings) of City Code. <br /> <br />e. A minimuinof 400 squar'e feet of garage or accessory building space shall be <br />maintained as a primary residential garage (as defined in Section 9.02 of City <br />Code) for indoor parking ofvehic1es and equipment <br /> <br />f. There shall not be any exterior evidence of the existence of said home <br />occllpation such as displays, extetiot storage of home occupation equipment, <br />ll1aterials~supplies, inventory or 111erchaildise, unless it is in accordance with <br />Section 9 .11:08 (Off-Street Parking) of the City Code. <br /> <br />18 <br />
