She stated that they found that a business was being operated on the subject
property and has been for about 10 years. She stated that most of the work occurs offsite and
they have two non-resident employees. She stated that there is some wood cutting and splitting
done on site and showed photos ofthis activity. She stated that they cUlTently do not have hours
of operation, but staff is proposing 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2:00 p.m.
to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday for loud operations. She stated that there have not been
any complaints filed against this business. She stated that there are two accessory structures on
the site and the new structure would cause an overage. She stated that staff is recommending
that the existing 1,500 sq. ft. structure be removed on the completion of the new structure, which
is why they are recommending an interim use permit in this situation. She stated that the
structure would be allowed to store vehicles, but not the wood. She stated that it would be a
metal paneled building and would reduce visibility ofthe business on the site.

Mayor Gamec asked if all the vehicles would be stored inside the building.

Mr. Goede stated that there is room for three vehicles inside, and they are planning to sell one of
their other trucks.

Councilmember Dehen asked about chipper activity.

City Council I November 25,2008

P14
