CITY COUNCIL & PLANNING <br />COMMISSION JOINT MEETING <br />Topic Report: Development Opportunity <br />Process/Comprehensive Planning <br />By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />A recent request was received for a comprehensive plan amendment to extend <br />Metropolitan Urban Se~wices Area (MUSA) west of Sunfish Lake Boulevard adjacem to <br />the recently approved Alpine Acres subdivision. During the consideration of the project, <br />the Planning Commission requested a more comprehensive approach to growth. <br /> <br />At a recent long-range strategic plmming session, the City Council discussed growth in <br />the City and had developed goals that allow municipal growth to "Opportunity <br />Development". The Council will soon begin a comprehensive plan process that will <br />allow for a larger study for these Opportunity Development projects to proceed. The City <br />Council would like the opportunity to discuss the long-range vision with the Plalming <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Action Statement: <br /> <br />Based on discussion. <br /> <br />CC/PC: 03/16/94 <br /> <br /> <br />
