<br />CASE # a3 <br /> <br />REPORT FROM PUBLIC WORKS <br />By: Public Works Staff . <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee met on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 and discussed the. following <br />four cases: <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion to-approve the agenda as submitted. <br /> <br />Case A: <br /> <br />Appoint Chair and Vice-Chair for 2009 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Motion to re-appoint Councilmember Elvig as Chair for 2009. <br /> <br />Motion to appoint Councilmember Dehen as Vice-Chair for 2009. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #1 <br /> <br />Consider Request for Additional Street Lighting along Nowthen Boulevard <br />in the Northern Portion of the City <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Staff stated the City had received a letter from a resident expressing concern with lighting along <br />Nowthen Boulevard. Staff reviewed the eligibility requirements according to the City policy and <br />although there are gaps in place with the existing lights, the goal has been to have a light at <br />intersections. A drive through of the area found that a light is missing at the intersection of 173rd <br />and Nowthen Boulevard. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend to the City Council that staff be directed to install a priority street light at <br />the intersection ofNowthen Boulevard and 173rd Avenue NW. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />-155- <br />
