<br />would support bringing it to the County Board in 2005 to reimburse theCity if they would like to <br />install flashing lights to indicate when the speed limits are in effect. <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Elvig commented it would be nice if the principal had a trigger switch for the <br />flashing lights for situations with special events. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook commented the lights will help the situation, but it is a poor substitute to <br />what was requested. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec explained MSA roads must meet state standards for the county to receive funding. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler indicated he will include the letters from the county regarding this <br />in the weekly update. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to recommend that the City <br />Council direct staff to install warning lights on CR 5 in front of Ramsey Elementary School at a <br />location agreed upon by the county and the City Police Department. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Assistant Public Works Director Olson indicated staff will bring the cost <br />back for ratification by the Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Elvig, Mayor Gamec and Councilmember <br />Cook. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler indicated staff would also recommend flashing lights be installed <br />in front of Fire Station No.1 as well. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to recommend that the City <br />Council direct staff to install warning lights in front of Fire Station No.1. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec directed staff to bring this cost for ratification by the Council. <br /> <br />. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Update on neighborhood meeting with Welcome's road residents <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler noted this was discussed under Case No.7. <br /> <br />. 3) Update on school walking zones and plowing issues <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler reported he and Chief Way met with the principal who is very <br />pleased with the service provided for the two mile walking radius.
