During that amendment process, the Rural Developing Bulk
~;tandards crt•oneously reverted back to the old standards with regard to lot size, lot width, and
sctb~tcks. Staff 11as drafted an ordinance that will correct the lot size, lot width, and setbacks for
the R-1 Rural Developing bulk standards. Staff also noticed that when the R-1 Rural Developing
bull: standards were amended to require lot, clustering, the maximum number of driveways was
rr;duccd from two to one per street frontage. This is logical for all lots created under the new
standards, which would be similar in size to urban lots. However, most of the existing properties
in .the Rural Developing district are at least an acre in size and thus, staff has also revised the
hull.. standards. to specify that clustered lots are limited to one driveway per street frontage but
that all c~isting .(non-clustered) lots are limited to -two driveways:- He advised the Planning
C'onlmission conducted a public hearing on September 1, 2005. There were no written or verbal
comments submitted at the hearing. The Council introduced the ordinance on September 13,
200.5 and it is now eligible for adoption.
Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt Ordinance #05-
24 amending City Code Section 9.20.11 (R-1 Residential District).
~ roil c~Itl vote was performed by the Recording Secretary:
Mayor Gamec: aye
C'ounclltncmbcr COOk: aye
(;ouncilnleinber Elvig: aye
Councilmember Jeffrey: absent
C`oimcihncmber Olson: aye
C.'ouncilnlcmber Pearson: aye
C'ouncilnlenlbet• StI•ommen: aye
1Vlotic~n .carried.
C'o~nlcllnlcnlber Elvig left the meeting at 8:27 p.m.
City Council !September 27, 2005
-178-
