<br />I. The planned equipment would exceed the structural capacity of the <br />existing or approved tower or building, as documented by a qualified <br />aIld licellsed professional engineer, and the existing or approved tower <br />canoot be reinfol"ced, modified, or replaced to acconullodate plaI1lled <br />or equivalent equipment at a reasonable cost. <br /> <br />2. The planned equipment would cause interference materially impacting <br />the usability of other existing or plalllled equipment at the tower or <br />building as dOCllll1ented by a qualified protessional and. the <br />intel'ference cannot be prevented at a reasollable cost. <br /> <br />3. Existing or approved towers and buildings within the search radius <br />cannot accommodate the planned equipmelltat a height necessary to <br />fUllCtioil reasonably as documented by a professional engineer. <br /> <br />4. In spite of its best efforts, within sixty (60) days, the applicant was <br />unable to obtain approval to co-locate on an existing or approved <br />tower or buildhlg. . <br /> <br />5. Other teasonsthat make it imptactical to locate the planned <br />telecommunications equipment upon an existing or approved tower or <br />building. <br /> <br />b.. Shared use of existing communications towers shall be preferred to the <br />construction of a llew tower. Any proposed commercial wireless <br />teleconullunicatiol1 service tower shal1 be designed structurally, electrically, <br />and in all respects, to accommodate both the applicant' santennas and <br />comparable antennas for at least two (2) additional users. <br /> <br />9.15.08 Towel' Construction ReHuiremellts. All towers erected,constructed, or located <br />'within the City, and aJ.Iwiring therefor, shall comply with the requirements set forth of Chapter 8 <br />of this Code. <br /> <br />9.15.09 Tower and Antenna Design Requirements. Proposed or modified towers and <br />antel1nas shall meet the following design requirements: <br /> <br />a. Towers aIld 8J).tennas shall be' designed to blemd into the surrotmding <br />environment through the use of color and design, except in instances where <br />the color is dictated by federal or state authorities such as the Federal <br />Aviation Administration. Tower architectural standards are subject to final <br />City Council approva1. <br /> <br />b. Commercial wireless telecommunication service towers shed I be of a <br />monopole design unless the City Council determines that an alternative <br />desigll is preferred in cases where stIuctural or design considerations, <br /> <br />-44- <br />
