Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that he was unsure which issue of the Ramsey
Resident the expo would be advertised in, due to changing deadlines.

Acting Chairperson Max, Ex-Officio Member McDilda, and Board Member Stodola agreed to
meet to further discuss planning for the expo.

Board Member Bentz commented that he had seen a booth at Valley Fair setup by the MPCA,
which he thought would fit into the expo. He advised that the booth contained information on
river water monitoring and how to sign up to volunteer.

Case #4:

2009 Public Workshops

Environmental Coordinator Anderson summarized that he had been working with the Anoka
Conservation District (ACD) to develop a series of workshops. He advised that the first
workshop would be held on Wednesday, May 13th, would be two hours long and would focus on
water smart landscaping. The second event would be a half-day workshop held on Saturday,
June 13th, with the second half of the class taking place possibly in Central Park. He explained
that the focus for the second workshop would be Rain Gardens. He advised that both events
would be held in the Alexander Ramsey Room, although the second half of the rain gardens
workshop would be in the field in a location yet to be determined. He thought that this was a
good opportunity to partner with the ACD, as they just received a grant and was willing to
conduct workshops with relevance to the community. He reported that the City would only be
paying for light refreshments for the workshops and the ACD would supply everything else.

BOARD/STAFF INPUT

None.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Board Member Freeburg and seconded by Board Member Bentz to adjourn the
meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

tvcK/$#

Chris Anderson
Environmental Coordinator

ATTEST:

~~~~
Shaw
munity Development Secretary
Environmental Policy Board / January 5, 2009
Page 8 of9
