Board Member Bentz wondered if there was interest in having a local weather personality
present at the Expo, as he thought it might draw interest.

Board Member Stodola made suggestions as to which local personalities might be interested and
volunteered to make some calls regarding the opportunity.

Board Member Bentz questioned if the EPB would have a booth this year, and whether it would
need to be manned.

Board Member Max stated that with the focus being on water conservation, he thought it would
be fairly easy for the Board to have a booth as the previous year's booth also focused on that
idea.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that it is not necessarily critical that the booth be
staffed at all times, but that there should not be long periods of time where the booth is
unattended. He advised that a case could be placed on the agenda for the next month regarding
the booth for the EPB to finalize the plans.

Chairperson McDilda advised that they would also need to determine a method of judging the
posters.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson questioned if the judging would take place at the Expo, or
the week prior, and just have the winners displayed at the event.

Chairperson McDilda stated that he would like to hold the judging the week prior, so that
winners would be announced and displayed at Ramsey Elementary. He thought that a
presentation, or something similar, could be done during the Expo in recognition of the poster
contest. He also thought that posters could be displayed at City Hall during the Expo.

Board Member Bentz questioned if volunteers would be needed to setup the posters at the City
Hall.

Board Member Max thought that plans for the Arbor Day event should be drafted by the time of
the Expo, so that it could be advertised to the public during that time.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson explained that he is still waiting to hear from the DNR
about which types of seedlings would be available from their nursery, which will help outline
what park would be utilized for the planting. He stated that by the time of the Expo, the details
should be clearer regarding the Arbor Day event, and it could be advertised.

Board Member Freeburg stated that he had talked with his contacts at the University, and while
two of the interested groups were not able to attend, one would be sending some information that
could be displayed. He stated that he had talked with Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve
and they are committed to a booth at the Expo. He advised that he had spoken with the Bell
Museum but they had wanted $150 to be present at the event.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson advised that there is a small budget for this event, and if
they have an interesting topic he would consider paying the $150 fee.

Environmental Policy Board / February 2,2009
Page 6 of8
