BUDGET COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Budget Committee conducted a meeting on Tuesday, April 23, 1991 at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator/Finance Officer Sandra Ashley Helling <br />Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney <br />Police Chief Mike Auspos <br />Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen <br />Community Education Coordinator Claudia Dodge <br />Parks/Utilities Coordinator Mark Boos <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson called the Budget Committee meeting to order at 5:37 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mrs. Helling stated she would like to add three items for general discussion: <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br />3) <br /> <br />Hepatitis B Vaccination <br />Generator for Public Works Department <br />Community Education Budget 1991 and 1992 <br /> <br />The consent agenda item was requested to be placed on the regular agenda for discussion. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve the agenda <br />as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #1: Presentation by Kathi Peterson and General Discussion of the Keep <br /> America Beautiful (KAB) Program Activities and Budget Request for <br /> 1991 <br /> <br />Kathi Peterson stated that some of the costs budgeted in 1990 for KAB had not been used and the <br />figure for the 1991 Clean-up day is down to about $10,000.00. There are two new items this year; <br />Adopt-a-Park and the Environmental Expo. The total cost for the Expo should be about <br />$3,500.00; however, $500.00 in donations have already been received and t-shirts and fly swatters <br />have been purchased to sell as fund-raisers. KAB is hoping to break even on the Expo. She <br />explained there is a community grant program offered to various groups to enable them to <br />participate in environmental projects.
