BUDGET COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Budget Committee conducted a meeting on Tuesday, October 8, 1991 at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley Helling <br />Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney <br />Police Chief Michael Auspos <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:09 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the following items on the Consent Agenda: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Receive Report of City Staff Time Billed to Private/Public Projects as of September 30, <br />1991. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Finance Officer Helling stated that Mr. Hadtrath cannot be present tonight and has asked to be <br />rescheduled for October 22, 1991 instead. She also stated she would like to add (if there is time) <br />Case #4: Community Education. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Committee was to approve the agenda as amended. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Insurance Agent of Record <br /> <br />Personnel Coordinator McAloney reported that the City of Ramsey has been notified of the cost of <br />the 1992 premium for Comprehensive Property and Casualty Insurance through the League of <br />Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust. The premium shows a significant increase in cost and there was <br />no explanation for the increase. She stated that questions had been directed to Mr. Hadtrath, the <br />City's Insurance Agent of Record, in an attempt to understand the large increase in premium. She <br />reported that Mr. Hadtrath stated that the increase in the Property and Casualty insurance is due to <br />claims; mainly the litigation of Holmberg vs. the City of Ramsey and also that the City has more <br />equipment and higher expenditures which would increase the premium in General Liability and <br />Errors & Omissions.
